In an interview to private news channel Aaj Tak, Ganguly said, "World Cup 2007 would be my last World Cup".

"I would be 38, by the next World Cup in 2011," he said.

Expressing confidence to make into the final eleven of the World Cup squad for Team India, Ganguly said, he was not in the race for captaincy.

"Although, I have been successful in the past as a captain, but I am not interested in captaincy now," he said.

He also said that there was no time to change the captain for the WC.

"There is just two-three months time left for the World Cup. There is very little time left, so nobody should be talking of change in captaincy," Sourav said.

Sourav said he was open to playing at any number in the team. "If given a chance I can excel my record," he added.

He said "I have confidence in my ability to perform on the field and has what it takes to perform on the field".

"If all the players perform like a team, like we played in the last WC, there is no doubt it can give same performance. And if it does, it is good," he added.

On question, whether India can make to WC finals, he said, India had enough opportunity ahead of the WC to brush up its skills.

"We have many international matches before the WC. Once we get into action, we can perform, just like we performed last year."

He maintained that India has been winning matches on foreign pitches.

When, Saurav was asked, that Indian team come down like a pack of cards anytime, how he could say that Indian team has chances.

"It is not like that, getting out on a very low score can happen with any team. You can compare it with available statistics. There will be barely any difference between the Indian and other cricket team performances," said Sourav.
