Badal's declare assets worth Rs 8.5 crore

SAD President Parkash Singh Badal and his wife have declared total assets worth around Rs 8.5 crore in an affidavit filed by the former chief minister at the time of filing of his nomination seeking re-election from Lambi assembly constituency in neighbouring Muktsar district.

The assets declared by Badal include agriculture land worth Rs 3.02 crore, non-agricultural land valued at Rs 5.70 lakh, bonds and shares Rs 1.07 crore, residential property Rs 1.84 Crore, bank deposit Rs 8.37 lakh and other assets Rs 20.06 lakh.

In the vehicle section, he owns a Massey Ferguson tractor purchased seven years ago whose value has been declared as Rs 1.5 lakh. Badal has also declared Rs 40,000 cash amount.

His wife Surinder owns agriculture land worth Rs 1.92 lakh, commercial and residential property worth Rs 28 lakh, jewellery Rs 34.09 lakh, bonds and shares worth Rs 56.17 lakh, deposits Rs 3.29 lakh and other assets worth Rs 19.24 lakh and cash Rs 30,000.

The former chief minister said he has paid an income tax of Rs 3,25,073 while filing his return for the assessment year 2005-06.
