In a bid to provide respite to litigants running from pillar to post in search of information pertaining to their cases, Karkardooma District Courts complex has become the first sessions courts here to dole out this unique facility at its newly-built compter information centre.

"With inauguration of facilitation-cum-information centre, people can acquire the required information about their cases by visiting our computerised information kiosk," Additional Sessions Judge Talwant singh, who supervises the Trial Courts' Technical Committee, told PTI.

Litigants can insert their names in the computer and information like the year of commencement of the matter, Judge's name, courtroom, trial stage and various other material facts would be made available by a few clicks, Singh said.

"Information is a just a click away and everybody is entitled to this as a matter of right," he said.

The Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court Mukundakam Sharma had yesterday inaugurated a facilitation-cum information centre at the Karkardooma courts.

The facilitation centre aims at streamlining the process of filing of cases, issuance of certified copies and providing necessary information to the litigants and would ease the procedural formalities with the aid of computers and other technical support systems.
