Tension in Nagpur locality

Tension prevailed in Sakkardara area near here today when a group of youth gathered near the site of alleged rape of a young woman and the killing of her husband two days ago.
Police said an angry crowd gathered in the area and set tyres on fire. Last evening, some unidentified persons had set ablaze a scrap dealer's temporary shop in the locality to protest against the incident.
Police first tried to pacify the mob by saying that the accused in the case have been arrested. They later used mild cane charge to disperse the crowd.
The situation was under control, police said.
