Chinese police capture 'corridor robber'

One of China's most wanted criminal, suspected of murdering three women and assaulting many others during a robbery spree in northeast Liaoning Province has been arrested, police said today.
Gao Hongwei, 41, committed 27 robberies in Shenyang by following unaccompanied women to their homes or waiting in the corridors of their buildings, police said.
The incidents took place between March 3, 2005 and February 13, 2007 causing great anxiety in Shenyang, Xinhua news agency reported today.
The Liaoning provincial police department had put the serial robber on its most wanted list.
Some 10,000 police in Liaoning took part in the investigation since the beginning of this year.
Gao was nabbed on February 21 at his home in Tiexi district in Shenyang.
