The reason why Angelina Jolie and beau Brad Pitt always stay in five-star hotels when they travel is because their kids need clean water and food.
Jolie revealed that though she and Brad would love to mingle with the locals when they travel across the world, especially to countries that are impoverished, they are forced to stay in posh hotels because at least there they can be sure that their kids - Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh - will be getting clean water to drink, as well as hygienically food to eat.
"When you have kids, you need clean water and salad for them," the Mirror quoted her, as saying.
The 31-year old Oscar winner also insisted that the paparazzi were another major factor why the couple stayed in posh and often heavily guarded hotels on their travels.
"We have to stay in five-star hotels when we have paparazzi following us," Jolie added.
The couple, in the meanwhile, are shifting base to New Orleans, the city ravaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Jolie revealed recently that she and Brad had decided to shift their home base from LA to the city because they had both fallen in love with it.
