Asif Ali Zardari, husband of Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, is in stable condition after undergoing angioplasty in a Dubai hospital following a heart attack, according to reports here.
Zardari is expected to remain in hospital for some more days and doctors have advised him complete rest for a few weeks, a Pakistan People's Party-Parliamentarians (PPP-P) statement said here.
He is expected to travel to London for a follow-up of the angioplasty, the party said.
Zardari suffered a heart attack Friday. The family was planning to take him to London for the angioplasty but since he was in critical condition, doctors advised an immediate operation.
Zardari, who was released in November after eight years in prison in Pakistan, went to Dubai last month to meet Bhutto, who has been living in self-imposed exile since 1999.
