Publish Date : 5/31/2005 4:32:00 PM   Source : Entertainment News

Soccer star David Beckham has failed to make it to the top 10 list of celebrity dads of the year for the first time since the public awards were inaugurated in 2003.

The Epson Celebrity Dad of the Year Award that will be announced following an online public vote June 16 this year has Coldplay singer Chris Martin, musician Bob Geldof, footballers Jamie Redknapp and Michael Owen, Hollywood star Jude Law and British Prime Minister Tony Blair in the race.

Members of the public vote on the ability to combine a "hectic public life with the demands of parenting", reports Ireland Online. Former Westlife star Brian McFadden won the inaugural award in 2003, and DJ Jono Coleman and Ground Force star Tommy Walsh both scooped the title last year.

Top 10 nominees 2005 are Bob Geldof, Chris Martin, Jamie Oliver, Jamie Redknapp, Jonathan Ross, Jude Law, Liam Gallagher, Michael Owen, Tony Blair and Vernon Kay.
