A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a bank in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk Tuesday, killing 18 people and wounding 53, reports Xinhua.
"A suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up among a crowd of people who were waiting for pension payment outside the Rafdiyn Bank in central Kirkuk," a police official said.
The attack also set several cars on fire in the oil-rich city, some 250 km north of here.
More than 900 people have been killed in a renewed wave of violence across Iraq since a Shia-led government came to power in late April.
Meanwhile, six people were killed and four others wounded Tuesday in a suicide car bombing attack in Kan'an, 45 km northeast of Baghdad, police said.
