With Hurriyat chief Syed Ali Geelani refusing to visit Pakistan, the government has downgraded the reception ceremony for the other leaders of the group who will arrive by the Kashmir bus June 2.
Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and ruling Pakistan Muslim League chief Shujaat Hussain were earlier scheduled to receive the delegation.
Now the president and prime minister of Pakistan-administered Kashmir will greet the team when it arrives at the Chakoti outpost on the Pakistani side of the Line of Control, reports Online news agency.
Sources told Online that Geelani's refusal to visit Pakistan has created uncertainty in the Pakistan government. Efforts are reportedly still under way to persuade Geelani to accept the invitation, sources said.
