India will field a 24-member squad at the first of three 2005 Asian Athletics Grand Prix series at Sidoarjo, Indonesia June 18.
Track events for men during the one-day competition will include races over 100m, 400m, and 800m, as also the 110-metre hurdles. Field events will include long jump, high jump, shot put and javelin throw.
The women's events include 100m and 400m sprints, 400m hurdles, 1,500m, long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus throw.
One hundred and twenty-two athletes - 67 men and 55 women - from 18 Asian countries will participate in the event, according to an Athletics Federation of India release.
The second series will be held in Singapore June 21, and the third in Songkhla, Thailand, June 24.
The team: Men: 100m: Anil Kumar and Piyush Kumar; 400m: Bhupinder Singh and Satbir Singh; 800m: Ghamanda Ram; 110m hurdles: H. Krishna Mohan, Shot put: Ranvijay Singh and Navpreet Singh; Javelin: Jagdish Kumar Bishnoi and Sunil Goswami; Long jump: Maha Singh; High jump: Hari Shankar Roy.
Women: 100m: Poonam Tomar, 400m: S. Geetha and Manjeet Kaur; 1500m: Sinimol Paulose, Sunita Rani and Sunita Kanojia; 400m hurdles: K. Chitra Soman; Discus: Seema Antil, Neelam J. Singh, Krishna Poonia and Harwant Kaur; Long jump: Anju B. George.
