The Haryana government Tuesday said a "chargesheet" of allegations submitted by the Congress as an opposition party against the previous Om Prakash Chautala government a few months ago has gone "missing".
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said all efforts were made to trace the file but it was missing from his own office.
The chargesheet had been marked to the government by Governor A.R. Kidwai after the Congress listed acts of "omission and commission" against former chief minister Chautala, his family and the government.
Hooda said a new copy of the chargesheet had been submitted to the state vigilance for inquiry.
A committee of the Congress, headed by senior leader Shamsher Singh Surjewala, had prepared the chargesheet. Hooda was a signatory to the document.
Hooda, after assuming office early March, had been accused of going soft on Chautala by not initiating any inquiry against him.
Till now, the chief minister was maintaining that respective departments were investigating charges listed in the document and that he was in no hurry to haul up Chautala.
