"Jogi" is the undisputed winner in the album race this fortnight. It shows that the marketing strategies adopted by Ashwini Ramaprasad, the film's producer and owner of Ashwini Audio, have helped.
1. "Jogi": The album is making waves in the audio world. The songs have become so popular that they are being played in many functions around Karnataka, though the film is yet to be released. This is yet another success for music director Guru Kiran. "Bin Ladennu nan maava" is catching up fast with the younger fans, while "Ello Jogappa Ninna Aramane" and "Hodi Maga" have also become popular.
2. "Akash": When the audio was released, the opinion was that music director R.P. Patnayak had failed to deliver. The audio and CD sale has, however, picked up dramatically after the film's release. "Neene Neene" and "Kuladalli Keelyaavudho" top the charts.
3. "Gowramma": The audio, released two weeks ago, is yet another success for music director S.A. Raj Kumar. "Koltaalallappo, Koltaalallappo" has become particularly popular. The film has Upendra and Ramya in key roles.
4. "News": This unreleased Upendra-starrer's songs have been on the air for over two months. "Naanu Jeetendra, Neenu Siridevi" is making waves. This is yet another feather in music director Guru Kiran's cap.
5. "Aaptha Mitra": The album continues to sparkle and holds ground by selling a minimum of 1,000 cassettes a day. The film has already completed 40 weeks in Bangalore, Mysore and Shimoga. "Raa Raa" and "Pata Pata Gali Pata" are the most popular songs in this album by Guru Kiran.
