Cabinet gives approval for two ordinances

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday gave its approval for promulgation of the National Tax Tribunal (Amendment) Ordinance 2005 to amend the National Tax Tribunal Act, 2005.
The Ordinance will be replaced by a Bill in the Budget Session of Parliament.
The Union Cabinet also gave its approval to promulgate the Ordinance for amending the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Act, 1998 that would amend the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Act, 1998 in order to empower Central Government to set up such similar Institutes or its Centres in any part of the country.
The new Ordinance would provide for inclusion of a representative of Pharmacy Council of India on the Board of Governors, and replacing the said ordinance by a Bill to amend the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Act, 1998.
The new ordinance will confer power on the Centre to set up new institutes or its centres related to pharmacy in other parts of the country.
