A person is required to take a balanced diet to stay healthy and disease free. Various constituents present in balanced diet provide energy, growth, repair, replacement of cells and physiological regulation along with prevention of many diseases. Still some foods like tomatoes, broccoli, soybeans, citrus fruits, honey, and oatmeal, and spinach are those foods that if added in daily diet can help you prevent from many serious illnesses and stay fresh and young for a long time.

Know some of the important food items that can enhance one's energy and reduce one's risk to a number of leading diseases and ailments; 1) oats; 2) soybeans; 3) tomatoes; 4) coldwater seafood, such as salmon or cod; 5) flaxseed; 6) garlic; 7) hot peppers; 8) sweet potatoes; 9) citrus fruits such as grapes; 10) cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, cabbage and Brussels sprouts;


1) Within the past couple years, most Americans have learned that incorporating oats into one's diet can significantly reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, lower cholesterol and stabilize blood sugars.

Healthy EPA/omega-3 oils are shown to decrease risk of coronary artery disease, stabilize blood sugars, increase brain power, and reduce the inflammatory response. Seafood reduces LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, while raising levels of HDL cholesterol.

5) Flaxseed is also very good as it has many important nutrients required for growth and development. A unique source of lignans, powerful antioxidants that are believed to stop cells from turning cancerous. Flaxseed also contains alpha-linolenic acid, the plant version of the omega-3s found in fish oils; it makes a great, healthy option for people who won't eat fish.

6) Garlic: Rich in allicin, which boosts immune function and reduces cancer risk. Garlic also has strong anti-viral effects and has been shown to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels

7) Another important, easy-to-access food is hot peppers, which are often used in Mexican, Tex-Mex, Thai, Indian and Chinese cooking. Hot peppers contain capsaicin, a vital immune-booster that's important in cutting the risk of stomach cancer.

8) Sweet potatoes: These are very good source of energy. Though it contains mainly carbohydrates but it is very much required for the production of energy in the body.

9) Citrus fruits: Citrus fruits are a rich source of Vitamin C. Hence are required for the formation and maintenance of collagen in the intercellular material of connective tissues. It is also necessary for the development of healthy gums and teeth and bones. It is also essential for the formation of RBCs and the production of antibodies.

10) Vegetables: Vegetables also contain many important minerals and vitamins. These are essential for the production of various antibodies which could fight diseases. These are also required for carrying out various functions of the body.

So, adding these important food items to your diet you can say good-bye to many diseases and even earlier you can avoid many deadly diseases. Moreover, it’s important to balance healthy eating with moderate exercise, plenty of sleep, and stress reducing activities. In other words, these foods can be medicine, assisting your body with its natural healing process, enhancing your moods and boosting your energy levels."
